  • All prices are in euros and include 20% VAT.

  • Payment is made in euros by credit card via Stripe at the time of booking.

    Reservations are confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

  • For Group Classes

    Up to 7 days before your class, you may request a full refund, less a 5% processing fee (to cover credit card and transaction fees).

    You may also reschedule your booking free of charge (subject to availability) up to 7 days prior.

    Between 7 days and 48 hours before the class, a 50% refund is available.

    For Private Classes

    Private classes are refundable up to 14 days prior, less a 5% processing fee.

    Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable.

    No-shows are non-refundable and non-transferable.

    Personal information refers to the details you provide when booking a class: your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

    Cookies: Our website uses functional cookies to personalize your experience and improve our services. You may accept or decline cookies at the bottom of this page — though please note that declining may affect certain website features. Cookies can be deleted at any time.

  • Our small-group classes begin with a relaxed settling-in period — time for coffee and introductions before we begin the class. As we are still preparing the atelier ahead of your arrival, we ask that you plan to arrive within 15 minutes of your class start time. Private classes offer more flexibility on timing.

  • All group classes are conducted in English.

    Private classes are available in French upon request.

  • Your class includes all ingredients, tools, and equipment. As part of our commitment to sustainability, recipes are not printed — instead, you will receive our recipe collection by email the day after your class. All you need to bring is your appetite — and your enthusiasm!

  • Participation is at the heart of every class. Guests work hands-on with the chef, making at least one recipe per session, and may collaborate in pairs or small groups depending on the dish. Our chef is attentive to each guest's comfort level and adjusts accordingly — whether you prefer to dive in or observe certain steps.

  • For the comfort and safety of all guests, only registered participants are welcome in the atelier.

    Our pastry classes welcome guests aged 12 and above when accompanied by a registered adult.

    Cuisine classes involve wine and sharp knives and are best suited to adults.

    We love to host private classes for families with young chefs — please don't hesitate to reach out.

  • For our 'A Day in Bordeaux' market class, the menu is decided collectively with participants on the morning of the experience.

    For all other classes, please inform us of any dietary restrictions or severe allergies — particularly nuts — at the time of booking. You are also welcome to email us in the week prior to your visit.

  • Yes — we offer a range of private culinary experiences, from intimate cooking classes to bespoke events for special occasions.

  • You are welcome to photograph yourself, the staff, and your work during class. We simply ask that you request permission before photographing other guests.

  • Our kitchen is designed for comfort, with stools available at all work stations.

    Our 'A Day in Bordeaux' market class includes a walk to the Marché des Capucins and back — approximately 1.2 km round trip (just under a mile) on city streets. Comfortable shoes are recommended for this class.

  • We have done our best to make The Gastronome as accessible as possible.

    Our space is on the ground floor with no stairs, an accessible toilet and sink, and stools at all work stations. There are some slight door frame transitions to navigate, and please be aware that the surrounding 17th and 18th-century streets can be uneven and narrow.

    We are happy to work with you in advance to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible — please don't hesitate to reach out.

  • We are located in the vibrant St Michel neighbourhood, home to La Basilique Saint-Michel — a magnificent 14th-century Gothic church — and Le Marché des Capucins, one of the oldest covered markets in France and the gastronomic heart of Bordeaux.

    The Tram A/C/D stop (Porte de Bourgogne) and the Tram C/D stop (Saint-Michel) are both a short 5-minute walk from our atelier, through classic 18th-century Bordelais architecture.
